Recommended Tattoo Aftercare Products
The products and aftercare recommendations below are simply optional suggestions based on what has worked well for previous clients and are not the only correct way to heal a tattoo. You are not required to use any of these specific products or follow these recommendations if you already have an aftercare routine that has consistently worked well for you. Every person's skin heals differently, so if you have a trusted method that has produced good results for your healed tattoos, you are welcome to continue using that approach.
 

Please do your own research before purchasing or using any product. Every person's skin is different, and it is your responsibility to determine whether a product is appropriate for your skin and to ensure you are not allergic or sensitive to any of its ingredients. If you have particularly sensitive skin or are concerned about a possible reaction, I recommend patch testing the product on a small area of skin several days before your tattoo appointment or before applying it to your healing tattoo.

Fragrance-Free Soaps
Use a gentle, fragrance-free antibacterial soap to wash your tattoo during the healing process.

  - Dove Sensitive Skin Antibacterial Soap – Approximately $10

Moisturizers
After washing your tattoo and allowing it to dry, apply a very thin layer of moisturizer to help prevent excessive dryness while your tattoo heals. If you are using second skin, begin moisturizing after you remove the bandage. If you are not using second skin, begin moisturizing once the tattoo is no longer leaking and the surface has begun to dry, which is typically around days 2–3.

   - If you have particularly sensitive skin: You may prefer to use a simple fragrance-free moisturizer such as Lubriderm Daily Moisture Lotion to minimize the risk of irritation. If you're concerned about a reaction, consider patch testing it several days before your tattoo appointment.

   - About Hustle Butter: Hustle Butter Deluxe has a natural scent from its botanical ingredients rather than added synthetic fragrance, and many people use it successfully during tattoo healing. However, if you have particularly sensitive skin or are prone to irritation from skincare products, you may prefer to stick with a simple fragrance-free moisturizer instead.
